Network Printing
The following instructions work within the computer lab at the Glennon campus but will likely not work at St. Mary's. To connect to a printer at St. Mary's, please do the following:
For the HP LaserJet 4015 Windows XP :
- Before starting verify you have the print driver or download it from www.hp.com".
- Open the "Start Menu" and click on "Printers and Faxes"
- Double click on "Add Printer" and the "Add Printer Wizard" will open.
- Click on "Next". The option to add a local or network printer menu will appear.
- Check the box "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer".
- Choose "Local printer attached to this computer" and click on "Next".
- The computer will attempt to find printers and offer the option for a manual install, click on "Next".
- The "Select a Printer Port" menu will appear.
- Choose "Use the following port". Clicking on the down arrow will reveal a list of printers and other devices.
- Choose "10.64.64.8 (Standard TCP/IP Port) and click on "Next".
- The "Install Printer Software menu will appear". Choose "HP" in the list of Manufacturers.
- If the printer driver is already on the computer it should appear in the "printers" list.
- Click on "Have Disk" to install from a CD or flash drive. Clicking on "Windows Update will not work.
- If you are having trouble with print drivers choose "HP Universal Printing PCL 6" and click on "Next".
- You will be given the option to keep or replace the existing driver. Choose "HP Universal Printing PCL 6 and click on "Next".
- The option to change the name and set the printer as the default will appear, this is a matter of personal preference. Click on "Next".
- You will be given the choice of sharing or not sharing the printer, this a personal choice, click on "Next".
- You will be given the option to print a test page. Click on "No" and click on "Next". Clicking on "Yes" will result in error if the driver is not fully installed.
- You should be at the "Finish Menu". Click on "Finish".
- To verify it works right click on the pinter and choose "properties" and print a test page.

Glennon Campus
There are two networked printers in the Computer Lab, which can be used by students in either the computer lab, their own rooms or anywhere else in the building. This page contains instructions for how to print to the printers from a student computer.

Printing from a Windows Vista PC to the LaserJet 2015
Follow these instructions to print from a Windows Vista computer to the HP LaserJet located closest to the door in the computer lab on the 3rd floor:
- Make sure your computer is connected to the Seminary network (if you can get the Internet, your computer is connected).
- Click on the Windows (formerly the "start") menu, then click on 'Printers.'
- Click 'Add a printer' button toward the top of the window.
- The 'Add Printer Wizard' will open. Click the Next button.
- Select "Add a local printer"
- Click on the button next to "Create a new port:" and select "Standard TCP/IP Port" from the pop-up menu. Click the Next button.
- A new Wizard will appear. Click the Next button.
- In the "Hostname or IP Address:" field, type in "192.168.10.135". Then click the Next button.
- The next screen will ask you to select the printer driver for the Lab LaserJet. If you have a 32-bit processor, right-click here and choose "Save Target As..." an save the file to your desktop.
If you have a 64-bit processor, right click here and do the same to download the driver.
- Right-click on the file after it downloads, and choose "Extract All..."
- Follow the directions in the Wizard that pops up, and when finished, go back to the Add Printer Wizard.
- Click on the "Have Disk..." button. In the window that pops up, click "Browse..."
- Navigate to your Desktop (or wherever you saved the downloaded file in step 9 above), and open the folder you Extracted all the files to. The program should automatically select the appropriate file (it ends in .inf) once you choose the proper folder.
- Click Open, then click OK in the Install from Disk window. Then click the Next button.
- Type in a name for the printer, then choose whether or not you want to set this printer as your default printer. Then click the Next button.
- If you want to print a test page, click "Yes" and Next, if not, just click the Finish button.
- Click the Finish button to complete the setup wizard. (We're almost finished!).
- Now, in the Printers window, right-click on the printer you just set up, and click "Properties..."
- In the Properties window, click on the "Device Settings" tab.
- Under "Installable Options," click on the word Not Installed (after Tray 3), and click on the pop-up menu and choose "Installed."
- Click OK, and now the printer should be set up and working on your computer!
Printing from a Windows PC to the HP LaserJet 2015
Follow these instructions to print from a Windows XP computer to the HP LaserJet located closest to the door in the computer lab on the 3rd floor:
- Make sure your computer is connected to the Seminary network (if you can get the Internet, your computer is connected).
- Click on the Start menu, then click on 'Printers and Faxes.'
- Click 'Add a printer' in the left-hand column.
- The 'Add Printer Wizard' will open. Click the Next button.
- Select "Local printer attached to this computer" and uncheck the box below that says, "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer." Then click the Next button.
- Click on the button next to "Create a new port:" and select "Standard TCP/IP Port" from the pop-up menu. Click the Next button.
- A new Wizard will appear. Click the Next button.
- In the "Printer Name or IP Address:" field, type in "192.168.10.135". Then click the Next button.
- The next screen will ask you to select the printer driver for the Lab LaserJet. Right-click here and choose "Save Target As..." an save the file to your desktop.
- Right-click on the file after it downloads, and choose "Extract All..."

- Check "Do not share this printer," and click Next.
- If you want to print a test page, click "Yes" and Next, if not, just click the Next button.

- Now, in the Printers and Faxes window, right-click on the printer you just set up, and click "Properties..."
- In the Properties window, click on the "Device Settings" tab.

Printing from a Mac to the HP LaserJet 2015
Follow these instructions to print from a Mac to the HP LaserJet located closest to the door in the computer lab on the 3rd floor:
- Make sure you are connected to the Seminary's network (if you can get the Internet, you are connected).
- Open Printer Setup Utility (in your Applications > Utilities folder).
- Click on the "Add" button.
- In the window that pops up, click on the "IP Printer" icon.
- In the "Protocol:" pop-up menu, choose "Line Printer Daemon - LPD". In the "Address" field, type in "192.168.10.135".
- In the "Name:" field, type in whatever name you'd like to use for the printer.
- Click the "Add" button.
- In the sheet that comes up for Installable Options, check the boxes next to "Tray 3" and "Duplex Unit," then click "Continue."
- The printer is set up - quit Printer Setup Utility to complete the installation!
Printing from a Windows PC to the HP LaserJet 1200
Follow these instructions to print from a Windows PC to the HP LaserJet located next to the iMac in the computer lab on the 3rd floor:
- Make sure your computer is connected to the Seminary network (if you can get the Internet, your computer is connected).
- Download and install Bonjour for Windows from Apple's website.
- Once Bonjour is installed, run the Bonjour printer utility, and add the 'HP LaserJet 1200' to your printer list.
- After the printer is added, you can print to it from any Windows application.
Printing from a Mac to the HP LaserJet 1200
Follow these instructions to print from a Mac to the HP LaserJet located next to the iMac in the computer lab on the 3rd floor:
- Simply choose the HP LaserJet 1200 from the Shared Printers menu when you go to print a document.
- Click File > Print...
- In the print dialog box, there is a selection menu for 'Printer:' — click on that menu.
- Move your mouse over 'Shared Printers,' then select 'HP LaserJet 1200.'
- Now click the Print button, and your document will print on the printer in the computer lab.
